AV couplers are audio and video connectors for transmitting audio and video signals. AV couplers can carry either analog or digital signals, but analog cables are often shielded to protect against radio frequency interference (RFI), electromagnetic interference (EMI), and noise. Most connector types are designed for convenience and ease of use. Cables should be easy to plug in and unplug, without thumb screws that need to be tightened or loosened, or awkward release latches or tabs.
